As a developer, I NEVER wanted to be a manager.

In addition to designing and writing over 100 apps, I mentored new developers, wrote and presented computer classes to non-IT staff, wrote articles, and gave speeches at conventions.

My goal was to have fun in my job and have an impact. Period. Salary was important mainly as a form of recognition.

This is what it was like to be my manager.
