Deciding what to eat is a problem, even for a couple living the life like the happy ending to a romance novel.

Try throwing the restrictions of diabetes into the mix.

I cook breakfast. For my wife, it is either fried eggs or a cheese omelet. For me, it’s hot or cold cereal and maybe poached eggs every three or four months.

Dinner at home is almost always some variation of sandwich since neither of us wants to cook. We make our own.

Lunch, which was dinner before we retired, is the main meal of the day. At first, I thought that she was making a lot of exotic recipes. Nope. She looked into the pantry and fridge and made something up. I am still impressed and have not starved yet.

We restrict going out just to keep it a treat.
