Good comparison of the difference between a Leader and Management. I never thought of myself as a leader because I never had a management position. However, I have trained hundreds of people as an unofficial part of my regular job. One said that she learned more from me in 2 months than in the last year and a half of the official training program, which included a 6 week programming boot camp. I pushed people to do things that they never thought that they could do and I assumed that they could do everything until they proved that they couldn’t. I even had an impact at age 65 on my new job. When I started, I asked for a second monitor pointing out that it increased my productivity by 45%. A year later, everyone had 2 monitors or extra-large screens.
