I admit, the Keto diet does get people off of a gluttonous consumption of carbs, but it would be dangerous for diabetics and anyone else subject to hypoglycemia. Check Google for other risks.
Here is an example of gluttonous consumption: one spaghetti dinner with one bread stick is three meals of carbs for a diabetic. Some people eat 3 or 4 breadsticks and add dessert on top of that.
Then their other two meals, plus snacks, make it even worse. Those are habits or addiction to sugar that need to be broken.
