I check stats because I like to count things. I hope that my posts have some impact on people’s lives, but there is no way to know which ones will. In software development, I called such random impacts “unforeseen benefits.”
I do it for fun. I told the interviewers for my last job when they asked why I wanted the job that “the job sounds like fun.”
A year later, the Editor in Chief asked me if I was having fun, and I said “yes.”
