I volunteered to give a 1-hour speech at a computer convention in Orlando.
I had never attended a convention or given such a speech anywhere, but had something to say.
Unfortunately, I read a book about titles on the plane and decided that I had the wrong title. The correct title and 500 people would have been in my sessions. Instead, I had 40 of the top experts in the world since they reviewed the overheads in advance.
The big thing: I quit worrying about what other people thought or that I might feel or do something dumb. My whole life changed from that point on.
