I was told when I was fired that I ought to get out of IT (computer programming) because I didn’t have the knack for it. I was devastated at the time.
They said during the interview that the work day was 8 hours. We ran our own tests between 4:00 am and 7:00 am, went to breakfast, and then worked the 8 hours. If I quit, I had to pay a recruiting fee equal to 6-months of my salary. So, I left after 8 hours, around 1:00 pm.
After they told me that, I designed and built over 100 apps, gave speeches at 7 computer conventions, and published 10 articles.
I did not change anything about my work pattern or effort, as in Managers: How do You Manage a Cat?
My wife and I have both been unemployed, but not at the same time.
By the way, I graduated from Rose.
