I’m glad that developers finally noticed that they need writing skills and that such courses exist. Thanks for an up-to-date article on the subject.

I was frequently ridiculed by coworkers, even in the last 5 years, for writing user instructions when our users were on the next floor and we could just walk there. Our users, on the other hand, were grateful to get anything.

I did learn on my first project in 1970 to be careful of technical jargon. I used the term array throughout the document. Once I explained what it was, they had no problem.

Developers also need to be able to give presentations and write non-technical documents.
