My dad owned three restaurants, so I am aware how important tips are.
I always tip well. If there is a problem, I don’t lower the tip. I talk to the manager so it can be fixed.
We went dancing at Caps Piano Bar in Houston. One time, the wait person asked if we were going to be there next week. When we arrived the next week, they had a “reserved” sign on our favorite table next to the dance floor. That continued until we retired a few years later.
The same type of thing happened at other places.
It pays to tip well and let management know when someone has done an unusually good job.
