My question: “As a software developer, will I be allowed direct contact with end-users and to work with trainees?”

For my last job, my answer that surprised them after they finished telling me about 5-minute deadlines and other negatives: Why do you want to work here? Answer: “The job looks like it will be fun.”

A couple of years later after another person quit over issues with our supervisor, the Chief Editor asked if I had problems with the supervisor and if I was still having fun? Answer: “No and Yes.”

My first project that I assigned to myself eliminated the 5-minute deadline problem, unless we were 5 minutes from the publication deadline.
