Since I take everything literally, I did not recognize this as satire.

First. Why didn’t your son write the paper, with his father’s help. There is no rule about getting outside help, or even proofreaders. If I was the teacher and received such a letter indicating that the student did not write the paper, I would change the grade to an “F.”

Second. It reminded me of the best paper that I wrote in College. I received a “B” because I did not underline the “ibid” in the footnotes. I am still irritated 52 years later. The font and margins are trivial.

Finally. The teacher should not give assignments on subjects that they have no knowledge, unless they expect to learn from their students. This one probably wouldn’t.
