So, they split what I did throughout my career into two jobs — Data Scientist and Data Analyst. I was curious to see what the difference was in job titles.

They have split a lot of other jobs into minute subdivisions, too

The Data Scientist seems to be tied to specific software solutions and languages. I would expect to be able to step into any of those, today, with no problem.

Of course, I had decades to pick this stuff up. Learning it in a 4-year college course, without practical applications, would be more difficult.

By the way, SQL was a huge step down from what I was using in 1982. It won the publicity wars.
