Some people say things like that because they feel that they need to say something. The point is that you can’t do anything about what has already happened.

I will never forget the comment by the old southern gentleman in Roots. He was either cluelessly trying to be nice or really sadistic. I was not sure.

I never worried about the past, just worked toward the future with lessons learned. You have already figured that out.
