I clap when a story causes me to think, whether I agree with the author or not. I also have other bases for claps.

I base the quantity relative to all stories that I have read. It’s natural for me. I did not realize that Medium did the same thing.

I am fairly new to Medium, so I use claps and highlights to find new people to follow. I am most interested in people who have published an article or made some comments.
