The layout and construction of this article, “3 Hidden Self-Sabotaging Beliefs,” is one of the most interesting posts that I have seen on Medium.
As for point #1, I tried that once with a 5 mile line of cars waiting to get into the Indy 500 race track. It didn’t work. So, I found another unmarked entrance and were seated 1 hour before my girlfriend’s parents got there (they left home 5 minutes before we did). You have to live with yourself, so set your own rules about when to break away from outside rules.
I never had a problem with #2
As for #3, I trained new software developers. I assumed that they could do everything until proved wrong. That happened twice — both were fired. One guy was so arrogant that he got in arguments with customers about the goals and everything else. I never could assess his capabilities. The second could not understand an IF-THEN-ELSE statement (true or false).
