They asked me during the interview for my last job as a software developer at age 65, “Why do you want this job?”
My reply, “The job sounds like fun.”
It was a perfect fit and the first time I ever worked for a publisher. I wrote user instructions for my users, which nobody had ever done before in that company.
Writing, for me, is fun and sometimes I actually got paid over the years.
Now, I belong to an Author’s club in The Villages, FL. where we read our drafts to each other for suggested improvements. It has been a new experience for all of us since I joined.
By the way, writing good, effective software is no different. A lot of people can code and get something to work, but that does not make them really good.
