We bought travel insurance for our Viking cruise, mainly to cover possible medical problems.
A hurricane shut down the Orlando airport and we were stranded for 3 days in Budapest.
The insurance covered all costs, except for a $30 taxi ride to the airport when I didn’t get a paper receipt.
It took awhile, and we had to provide receipts for all costs. We also had all charges to our credit card and receipts posted in US dollars instead of the local currency.
It took about 3 months to get our refunds — about $1,300, but it worked.
