You need to know in advance the type of person that interests you and will be a good fit. Both have to be true. You have to know yourself, first.

My wife’s ad on Match about 19 years ago said, “Intelligence is important.”
Mine said, “Bugs Bunny is my hero.” (a very subtle message, here).

My ad on Match.com also said:
